Ephesians 4.1-6
Unity of the body of Christ
CEB, Common English Bible
CEB, Common English Bible
4 Therefore, as a prisoner for the Lord, I encourage you to live as people worthy of the call you received from God. 2 Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and patience. Accept each other with love, 3 and make an effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit with the peace that ties you together. 4 You are one body and one spirit, just as God also called you in one hope. 5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 and one God and Father of all, who is over all, through all, and in all.
4 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

Prayers
An Opening Prayer:
Almighty God, through Jesus you say to us that whoever wishes to be first must become the least and the servant of all. We enter into your presence, knowing that your victory is won through the powerlessness of the cross. We come to pray that your church may be one. Teach us to accept humbly that this unity is a gift of your Spirit; through this gift, change and transform us and make us more like your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Praying for Others:
After each is lifted by name and prayed for,
“One God and Father of all…. Hear our prayer.”
We lay before you, Our Lord, each of our brothers and sisters:

The Lord's Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory for ever. Amen.

Take It Out the Door
Who are you out of sync with?
Broken relationship with another believer?
Mad at someone else from the church you attend or another?
Find unity by apologizing, forgiving, agreeing to disagree, or whatever it takes to bring God's Church back into harmony with itself. You'll be glad you did!
Now turn the lock... grab a hand or offer a hug... Secure, at last!
